Keda was
founded by leading music producer, composer and tabla player Kuljit
Bhamra together with collaborators Essam Rashad, David Knowles
and Alan Heaton in 1986.
Kuljit's previous two albums, which he produced for Southall-based
bands Premi and Heera, launched them to overnight stardom and success
resulting in an unprecedented and overwhelming demand for his groundbreaking
Punjabi dance music. Bhangra had finally come of age as the flagship
of British Indian Music.
In 1989, Kuljit set up his own recording studios (Red Fort) in Southall
and began to produce a series of high quality recordings with his
favourite artists. These recordings are now available here at Keda
- direct from the recording studio to you.
